Introduction

SCOReD was initiated in 2001 by the IEEE Malaysia Section. It was first organised by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2001, and followed by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), University Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008, respectively. The 7th SCOReD conference is organized by the IEEE Student Branch, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). It will provide a unique platform for student to share their experience and share their latest research breakthroughs with their peers. In accordance with this year’s theme “Promoting Research and Education in Engineering”, a variety of selected research work done by students and researchers will be presented in SCOReD 2009.

Objectives

The aim of SCOReD 2009 is to provide a unique platform for students, academicians, engineers and industries around the world, to share their experience and view in their latest research and breakthroughs. Among the objectives are as follows:

  • To promote the research and development activities among students.
  • To boost intellectual, creative and innovative thinking among students.
  • To exchange cultural experiences and establish networking among students at the international level.
  • To expose students with new technology and acquaint them with prospective employers through the career fair and exhibition.

Participants

All 2009 graduates, postgraduates (PG), undergraduates (UG), academicians, researchers, engineers and managers from Institute of Higher Learnings, research institutions, utility companies and various industries are welcome to participate.
